  • 5 tomatillos husks removed
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 2 garlic clove peeled
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1/4 onion peeled

Recipe Steps

  • Turn broiler on (or heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Prepare the vegetables: Peel garlic cloves, peel the onion, peel the tomatillos, and cut the stem off the jalapeño. Cut jalapeño in half length-wise and cut tomatillos in half.
  • Place tomatillo halves, jalapeños, quarter onion, garlic cloves in an oven safe dish or on a baking sheet.
  • Place baking sheet with vegetables under the broiler (or in the oven).
    5 tomatillos, 1 jalapeño, 2 garlic clove, 1/4 onion
  • Broil until skin is blistered, approximately 5 minutes (it will take longer if you are just using the oven).
  • Remove from broiler. Place ingredients into blender.
  • Puree on high for 30 seconds until completely smooth, There may still be tomatillo seeds giving texture to the salsa.
    0.25 tsp salt
  • Taste and adjust for salt.
