Turn broiler on (or heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit)
Prepare the vegetables: Peel garlic cloves, peel the onion, peel the tomatillos, and cut the stem off the jalapeño. Cut jalapeño in half length-wise and cut tomatillos in half.
Place tomatillo halves, jalapeños, quarter onion, garlic cloves in an oven safe dish or on a baking sheet.
Place baking sheet with vegetables under the broiler (or in the oven).
5 tomatillos, 1 jalapeño, 2 garlic clove, 1/4 onion
Broil until skin is blistered, approximately 5 minutes (it will take longer if you are just using the oven).
Remove from broiler. Place ingredients into blender.
Puree on high for 30 seconds until completely smooth, There may still be tomatillo seeds giving texture to the salsa.

Taste and adjust for salt.
